Let's clarify that there is no difference between the treatment process of Women's SMP and Men's SMP. Although the procedure process is the same, the stigma behind hair loss isn't. Society has, in a sense, made it acceptable and a normal process for men to thin or even go bald the older they get. Women, on the other hand.. well, that's another story. Simply separating the men and women SMP into sections allows us to dedicate some time to talk about the differences leading up to your decision to look into hair loss. 

Let's get back on track now with women's hair loss. According to Google Trends, searches for ’causes of hair loss in women are up 82%. Now that's a lot of women looking up hair loss which shows you are not alone in that search!  Many women experience hair thinning and hair loss, and the impact on self-esteem can be huge. We have had so many clients in our chairs throughout the years and to see the emotional toll it can take on a women's self-esteem is huge! The way we feel and look at ourselves can affect our everyday lives. This is why we are so excited about offering SMP options to women out there. As mentioned above, although the process is the same for men and women, some factors make it a little different. Women looking to add volume to their hair do not have to shave it or cut its hair, matter how long it is. That is the exciting part about this we want you to keep that hair! Sometimes this might allow for longer session times, but it will be worth it.

There are so many causes for female hair loss that range from genetic, progressive hair loss, alopecia,  hormonal changes such as menopause, short-term stresses or pregnancy, diet, and even as a result of certain hairstyles.

SMP can be used to fill in a women’s receding hairline, bald spots and add thickness to thinning hair parts.

The idea of going bald and hair thinning is a real issue for many women out there. Thankfully nowadays, there are treatments like SMP for women.
